La verdad tengo algún tiempo pensando en hacer unos marcalibros para promocionar un poco brokentales y me pareció que la mejor oportunidad es estar en La Feria del Libro en Madrid. Y cuando digo estar me refiero a estar en el parque del Retiro dando los marcalibros a las personas que asistan a la feria.

He ido un par de veces a la feria y la verdad es que es muy interesante. Hay libros para todos los gustos, desde los de ciencia ficción, pasando por novelas, libros de gastronomía hasta llegar a los libros de autoayuda. Hay algunas librerías especializadas que llevan azafatos y azafatas disfrazados, hay actividades infantiles, sesión de firma con autores famosos y debates.

Si queréis asistir les comento que la feria empezará el 30 de mayo y finalizará el 15 de Junio y estará ubicadoen el Parque del Retiro en Madrid, cerca de las líneas de Metro El Retiro (línea 2) e Ibiza (línea 7), desde ahí ve al parque del Retiro y… sigue a la multitud.

Pues eso, si te interesa un marcalibros de brokentales.com os espero en la feria del libro.

I have been thinking about to make bookmarks to promote a little more brokentales and I thought that it is a good idea be at the Madrid Book Fair. And when I say I will be at the park I mean I will be at the part giving away bookmarks to the fair’s assistants.

I have gone to the fair a couple of times and, to be honest, it is very interesting. There you will find books of any kind: starting at scifi, novels, gastronomy books until help-self books. Some specialized book stores have disguized people, there are activities for childrens, famous writers autographs and group discussions.

If you want to assist I must tell you that the fair will start this May 30 and will end the June 15 and will be placed at the Retiro Park here in Madrid, near the subways exit El Retiro (line 2) and Ibiza (line 7), from there go to the Retiro park and… follow the crowd.

Recién me enteré de que se está llevando a cabo el I Concurso Twitter de Relatos Breves de Ciencia Ficción. Los relatos deben escribirse en castellano o, según sus organizadores, algo que se le parezca. Pero no se preocupen porque hay tiempo, este concurso finalizará el 1 de Julio a las 0:01. La persona ganadora se dará a conocer el día 4 de Julio. Como todo concurso que se precie tiene un premio: Un lote (aún indeterminado) de libros de Ciencia Ficción. Para lo que somos amantes de este tipo de literatura el premio es más que aceptable. I just have heard that there are a Scifi Short Story Competition in Twitter. The stories must be written in spanish or, according its promoters, something like it. But there is time, this competition will finnish on July 1 at 0:01. The winner will be announced on July 4. This competition has a prize: a lot (yet undetermined) of Scifi books. To the lovers of that kind of literature this prize is more than acceptable. I am already did some contributions, if you are interested you can search the user called  brokentales_com on twitter.com

Siguiendo el enlace de un amigo, me he enterado de una especie de revolución que se vive en Japón en estos meses: La creación de novelas mediante el envío de SMS. Digo que es una revolución, porque no es normal (hasta ahora) que la mitad del “top ten” de los libros de ficción de Japón se hayan escrito usando mensajes SMS.

Al parecer las keitai shousetsu (como llaman en Japón a las novelas creadas por SMS), están empezando a preocupar a algunos editores que ven a sus negocios como los que llevan el contenido del autor a los lectores.

Probablemente sería una buena característica extra para añadir a brokentales. ¿Qué piensan?

Following a link from a friend, I read that a kind of revolution that is taking place in Japan in these months: The writing of stories made by using the SMS system. I say that is a revolution because it is not normal (until now) that the half of the “top ten” of the Japan sci-fi’s books have been made thru SMS messages.

It seems that the keitai shousetsu (that is the name that receive the stories made by SMS in Japan) are starting to worry to some editors which see their businesses as the only one that can bring the content to the readers.

Probably it would be a nice extra-feature to brokentales. What do you think?
